On July 14, 2021, UTA Holdings, a leading Semiconductor component distributor who are dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary, Yousun, has launched an outdoor 400W-IP67 waterproof LED power supply solution based on ON Semiconductor NCP13992/NCL2801.
In recent years, with the accelerated construction of smart cities, outdoor LED lighting products are gradually replacing traditional lighting products and becoming the mainstream application in public transportation infrastructure such as roads, Bridges, tunnels and airports.LED drive power supply as an essential part of LED lighting products, driven by the market, its scale is also growing rapidly.Compared with traditional lighting products, LED lighting products have the characteristics of high luminous efficiency, stable and durable, adjustable light, easy to control and so on.However, due to the long-term outdoor work of LED, the living environment is relatively harsh, so the requirements for its power supply are more and more stringent.
The LED power supply solution which was introduced by Dayan, uses ON Semiconductor's LLC driver NCP13992, synchronous rectifier driver MPS6922 and PFC driver NCL2801. It meets the IP67 waterproof rating and provides stable performance even in harsh environments.
NCP13992 is the industry's first LLC controller with current control mode. The built-in 600V gate driver simplifies layout and reduces the number of external components.It uses a cycle hopping mode to improve light load energy efficiency and integrates a series of protection features to improve system reliability. It is used in LED power and industrial power system applications to significantly achieve high energy efficiency and ultra-low standby power consumption under light load and full load.
NCL2801 is a CrM power factor correction (PFC) boost controller IC for analog/PULSE width modulation (PWM) dimmable LED drivers.The device optimizes total harmonic distortion (THD) performance while maximizing system energy efficiency under wide load conditions, enabling less overshoot/downshoot during startup and dynamic load, and enabling optimal loop gain control for linear level detection.And the NCL2801 also integrates error amplifiers, which have easy loop design and lower power consumption.
