The selection of down blowing or side blowing mainly depends on the design of chassis and air duct. There is no choice for small chassis, and direct blowing can be installed. The side blowing mode can be installed on the large chassis. The blowing direction should match the chassis air path as much as possible. After forming a good air duct, it can also help heat the memory and power supply unit. We also need to consider the size when selecting the CPU heatsink. If it is too large, it will press the memory slot. Some heatsink design will be made into a "suspended" shape to leave space for the memory.
