Huawei Releases The Top Ten Trends in Data Center Energy For 2024
Recently, Huawei held a press conference on the top ten trends in data center energy for 2024 and released a White Paper. At the press conference, Yao Quan, President of Huawei Data Center Energy, defined three major characteristics of future data centers: safety and reliability, minimalist integration, and low-carbon green. Yao Quan stated that in the era of AI big models, the annual compound growth rate of global AI computing power will exceed 80% in the next five years, and data centers will gradually evolve from cloud data centers to cloud+intelligent computing centers.
The sustained and rapid development of the digital economy, the surge in data volume, and the leapfrog development of AIGC have all put forward higher requirements for computing infrastructure; At the same time, the high energy consumption and cooling performance of server clusters represented by data centers need to be improved and enhanced, which is also driving the industry to adopt more advanced and greener temperature control methods. As an emerging temperature control method, liquid cooling has significantly improved heat dissipation efficiency compared to traditional air cooling, and will be chosen by more server manufacturers and application scenarios in the future.
