Intel 4 Nm Technology Places More Emphasis On Energy Efficiency Than Intel 7 Nm Technology
In a collective interview held in Penang, Malaysia on the 22nd local time, William Grimm, Vice President of Intel Logic Development, stated that the yield of the Intel 4nm process was higher than expected, and he is confident in this. William Grimm introduced that Intel 4nm nodes are a process that places special emphasis on energy efficiency. If the Intel 7nm process is focused on maximizing performance, then Intel 4nm is focused on improving energy efficiency. It is more suitable for applications such as laptops.
Intel 4 nm fully adopts EUV lithography technology and uses ultra short wavelength light to print ultra compact features. With a performance to power ratio increase of approximately 20% and regional improvements, Intel 4nm will begin production in the second half of 2022 for products shipped in 2023, including customer Meteor Lakes and data center Granite Rapids.
