Crimp Fin Heatsink process

      The crimped fin heatsink, also called plug-in fin heatsink is a high-power electronic radiator made by machining the base plate and fin plate. Thecrimped fin heatsink has the advantages of simple manufacturing process, low cost, high power, many specifications and wide application. It can be non-standard customized according to user requirements to meet a variety of different heat dissipation requirements.

     The crimp fin heatsink is formed by combining a base plate and a plurality of fin plates : one side of the base plate is provided with a plurality of grooves parallel to and perpendicular to the base plate, one side of the fin is inserted into the groove at intervals, and the fin is closely matched with the groove. The side plate is located on both sides of the base plate, parallel to the fin and fastened to the base plate.

The flowing steps shows the process of crimp fin heatsink technology:

1. The aluminum rod is dissolved and cooled through a large die to make an aluminum substrate plate. Special size cutting can be carried out according to the needs of customers. In this way, the preparation of the insert fin heatsink substrate in the first step is completed.

2. According to the needs of customers, using a special automatic slotting machine to get the substrate grooves machining.

3. Preparation of the plug-in fin: Use the stamping die or wire cutting process to make the insert fin with appropriate specifications, and the thickness must be 0.05-0.2mm less than the width of the groove.

4.Fastening the plug-in fin into thev substrate grooves,The substrate plate and the ping-in fin must be closely matched and connected, otherwise the heat transfer effect will be affected.
