How does LED dissipate the heat?
In order to solve the heat dissipation of LED bulbs, it is necessary to start with two aspects before and after packaging, which can also be understood as LED chip heat dissipation and LED bulb heat dissipation.
The heat dissipation method of the LED chip is mainly related to the choice of the substrate and the circuit and the process. Any LED can be made into a lamp, and the heat generated by the LED chip will eventually be dissipated into the air through the shell of the lamp. Because the heat capacity of the LED chip is relatively small, a small amount of heat accumulation can quickly increase the junction temperature of the chip. If it is operated at a high temperature for a long time, its life will be shortened quickly. However, there are many ways for this heat to actually guide the chip to the outside air. Specifically, the heat generated by the LED chip comes out of its metal heat sink, passes through the solder to the PCB of the aluminum substrate, and then reaches the aluminum radiator through the thermally conductive glue. Therefore, the heat dissipation of LED lamps actually consists of two parts: heat conduction and heat dissipation. The heat dissipation of the LED lamp housing also needs to consider different options according to the power size and the place of use.
1. Aluminum fins
This is the most commonly used heat dissipation material, and aluminum heat dissipation fins are used as the shell to increase the heat dissipation area. The LED tower chandelier of our company uses fins as the heat-conducting material.
2. Thermally conductive plastic shell
Fill the plastic shell with thermal conductive material during injection molding to increase the thermal conductivity and heat dissipation capacity of the plastic shell.
3. Air fluid mechanics heat dissipation
Aerodynamics uses the shape of the lamp housing to create convective air, which is the lowest-cost way to enhance heat dissipation.
4. Long-life and high-efficiency fans are used inside the fan lamp housing to enhance heat dissipation
The cost is low and the effect is good. However, it is more troublesome to change the fan, and it is not suitable for outdoor use. This kind of design is relatively rare.
5. Heat pipe heat dissipation
The heat pipe uses heat pipe technology to conduct heat from the LED chip to the heat dissipation fins of the housing. In large lamps, such as street lamps, this is the design.

6. Surface radiation heat dissipation treatment The surface of the lamp housing is treated with radiation heat dissipation
The simple thing is to apply radiant heat-dissipating paint, which can radiate the heat away from the surface of the lamp housing.
