The Air ducts are the key to thermal performance

       The air duct actually refers to the passage of air flow inside the chassis. When designing air ducts, we mainly use the upward movement of hot air to layout from front to back and from bottom to top. Usually, the fan on the CPU heat sink is blown from front to back to achieve efficient heat dissipation. If the host is not blocked by the graphics card below, it is also feasible to blow the fan from bottom to top. Just pay attention to the heat sink not blocking the memory.

    However, many players, in pursuit of better heat dissipation or the need for cool lighting effects, will install additional fans inside the  console. At this point, it is necessary to pay attention to the orientation of the fan. The wind direction of the fan blows from the side without the support to the side with the support, and the side of most fans will indicate the direction of air flow.

      According to the installation principle of fans, the fans at the front and bottom of the chassis should supply air to the inside of the chassis, while the fans at the rear and top should exhaust air outwards. In this way, both the supply fan and the outlet fan form an efficient air duct. Even if the number of fans is small, as long as the installation direction is correct, efficient heat dissipation can still be achieved.

    However, installing fans is not always better. If there are too many fans and they are all blowing inward, it will cause hot air to accumulate and affect the heat dissipation effect. On the contrary, if the fans blow outward, it will cause insufficient internal air and a decrease in heat dissipation capacity. Therefore, optimizing the air ducts inside the chassis by adjusting the orientation of the heat sink is very effective. The more fans in the chassis, the better. The key lies in a reasonable layout, in order to better utilize the heat sink effect and hardware performance.
