Thermal heatsink material comparison
At present, the commonly used heat sink materials are aluminum alloy and copper, both of which have their own advantages and disadvantages. Copper has good thermal conductivity, but the price is expensive, the processing is difficult, the weight is too large (many pure copper radiators exceed the weight limit of CPU), the heat capacity is small, and it is also easy to oxidize. Pure aluminum is too soft to be used directly. Only aluminum alloy can provide sufficient hardness. Aluminum alloy has the advantages of low price and light weight, but its thermal conductivity is much worse than copper. Some heatsinks use both aluminum and copper material in the heatsink design to balance the performance and cost.

There are many kinds of heat sink materials, including copper, iron, aluminum, steel, etc. the price and heat dissipation of different materials are different, and each has its own advantages. For example, the price of aluminum heat sink is low, the iron heat sink is relatively strong, and the thermal conductivity of copper heat sink is very good. The specific material should be determined in combination with the actual needs.

Copper aluminum composite heat sink
Advantages: it adopts copper pipe with high anti-oxidation and corrosion, and aluminum metal with good heat dissipation effect is attached on it. Water flowing in the copper pipe will not cause corrosion, and heat can pass through the better volatile radiation of aluminum metal. The advantages are corrosion resistance, large heat dissipation, fast heat dissipation speed, lighter and more beautiful than steel.
Disadvantages: its disadvantages are very obvious, because the thermal expansion coefficients of different materials are different. After using the heat sink, there will be gaps or even looseness between the metals, and the gaps will produce thermal resistance, which will affect the heat conduction and reduce the heat dissipation effect. In this way, the heat dissipation will decrease year by year after long use, and looseness will not only affect the appearance, but also produce sound in the process of use.
