Fujikura Announces Successful Development Of High Performance Heat Pipe For Data Center Cooling

Due to the popularity of 5G and artificial intelligence, data center server CPUs are required to operate at higher frequencies and have multiple complex performance. In order to meet the requirements of high-speed communication and computing, the heating capacity of processors is increasing day by day, and efficient cooling systems are needed to transfer heat and ensure the stable operation of equipment.
On October 26, 2022, Fujikura Ltd. (Fujikura Co., Ltd.) announced the successful development of a heat pipe for data center cooling. The maximum heat transfer capacity of the heat pipe is approximately twice that of its traditional product, which can handle the large amount of heat generated by server CPUs. Fujikura stated that although liquid cooling systems are a high-performance solution, their equipment costs are relatively high. Therefore, it is also indispensable to develop traditional air cooling systems with higher performance, lower cost, and the use of heat pipes to meet the cooling needs of modern servers.
