Liquid Cooling Technology Will Develop Rapidly
Against the backdrop of continuous iteration of AI computing power, the liquid cooling segment is predicted by institutions to usher in a "golden age" due to its advantages of efficient heat dissipation and energy conservation. Compared with air cooling technology, the advantages of liquid cooling lie in high heat dissipation efficiency, stable temperature control, and low energy consumption. Cold plate liquid cooling and immersion liquid cooling are currently the two mainstream technology routes in the industry. NVIDIA founder Huang Renxun once expressed his firm belief that immersive liquid cooling technology is the future direction.
Generally speaking, the power of a single cabinet determines which cooling method a data center will adopt. But when the power of a single cabinet does not exceed 10kW, using air cooling is more economical; When the single cabinet is between 10-100kW, it is more suitable to use cold plate liquid cooling; The power of a single cabinet exceeds 100kW, and using phase change immersion liquid cooling is more economical.
