Telecom Operators Release Development Plans For Liquid Cooling Technology
On June 5th, at the "Computational Power Innovation Development Summit Forum" of the 31st China International Information and Communication Exhibition, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, three basic telecommunications operating enterprises, invited relevant representative enterprises of the liquid cooling industry chain to jointly release the "Telecommunications Operator Liquid Cooling Technology White Paper" to the industry.
The White Paper proposes that the three major operators will conduct liquid cooling technology validation in 2023, conduct scale testing in 2024, and pilot the application of liquid cooling technology in 10% of the new data center projects; In 2025, large-scale applications will be carried out, with over 50% of data center projects applying liquid cooling technology. The telecommunications industry aims to become a leader in liquid cooling technology.
The demand for high computing power brought about by the explosion of innovative applications in AI and intelligent computing will further promote the improvement of the overall power density of data centers. The white paper points out that liquid cooling technology replaces traditional air heat dissipation by cooling liquids, efficiently exchanging heat between liquids and servers, improving efficiency and reducing PUE, gradually becoming a new type of refrigeration solution.
