KKR Acquired CoolIT Systems, A Renowned Liquid Cooling Company
According to foreign media reports, global investment company KKR and liquid cooling solution provider CoolIT Systems (CoolIT) have signed a final agreement, under which KKR will acquire CoolIT for $270 million.
With the booming development of artificial intelligence and other applications that require a lot of computing, more and more data centers are using innovative cooling technologies to solve the problem of rising energy consumption. Since 2011, KKR has invested over $17 billion in digital infrastructure construction. KKR is concerned that the data center industry is expected to consume 8% of global energy by 2030. With the rise of artificial intelligence and high-performance applications, KKR believes that liquid cooling plays a key role in reducing energy consumption in data centers, which is the main reason for its deal with CoolIT.
