Magnetic liquid cooling system of Canon camera

    People with ultra-high pixels, strong autofocus performance and 8K30p video specification were impressed. However, they were plagued by video overheating, which limited the shooting of high specification video. Therefore, improving the heat dissipation is very important for the future development of cameras/professional video recorders. Canon's new patented technology uses the liquid cooling device inside the camera to solve the overheating problem of the micro single camera designed for video during long-term operation.

     This cooling system combines magnetic force and geocentric suction to make the liquid containing magnetism in the liquid cooling device flow smoothly in the duct, and bring the heat from the photosensitive element to the cooler area in the fuselage. Canon said that the heat dissipation duct can be divided into four areas: Zone 1 uses magnetic fluid to take away the heat of the sensor; Zone 2 introduces the magnetic fluid into the cooling element through a conduit; Zone 3 is a cooling element; Zone 4 flows the cooled magnetic fluid into the heating area from the gravity through the conduit.

      As this type of liquid cooling system requires some space to operate normally, the distance between the camera bayonet and the handle may be longer than that of ordinary cameras from the pictures submitted by Canon, which can accommodate the cooling duct. As for the cooling part of the system, it may be set inside the camera handle.

     Although it will be a new attempt to use magnetic liquid as coolant on the camera, if the cooling area is set inside the handle, another problem may arise: the handle of the camera is generally used to hold the battery, and the battery will heat up during operation, which affects the cooling system effect in a disguised way. Therefore ,an efficient cooling system is an important part.
