Huawei Announces Flexible Flat Panel Heat Pipe Technology

     For foldable screen phones, it is necessary to be able to transfer heat from one part of the device to another, where flexible thermal conductive materials play an important role in heat transfer. However, traditional heat pipes or flat heat pipes use rigid materials, which can damage the rigid shell after multiple folds and bends. Therefore, rigid heat pipes are not suitable for use in folding screen phones. Huawei has found a solution for this.

   According to the patent document, in one embodiment, the upper and lower outer surfaces of this flexible heat pipe are rigid shells (metal or alloy materials such as copper, aluminum, or titanium), and the polymer layer is sandwiched between the rigid shells to form a "sandwich" structure. The rigid shell can prevent coolant from penetrating the polymer layer and leaking out, ensuring that the heat pipe does not experience significant performance degradation in long-term use.
