The heat sink is a device that dissipates heat for the electronic components in the electrical appliance. It is mostly made of aluminum alloy, copper into plates, sheets, and multiple sheets. For example, the CPU in a computer needs to use a high power heat sink, the power tube in the TV, the line tube, and the power amplifier tube in the power amplifier must use the heat sink. Generally, the heat sink should be coated with a layer of thermal grease on the contact surface between the electronic components and the heat sink during using, so that the heat emitted by the components can be more effectively conducted to the heat sink, and then dissipated into the surrounding air through the heat sink.
Aluminum alloy is an excellent heat sink material widely used in modern thermal industry. Most of the industry uses 6063 T5 high-quality aluminum material, its purity can reach more than 98%, it has several advantages such as great thermal conductivity, low density, cheap cost,etc. so it's the most popular material for heat sink manufacturing. According to the thermal resistance value of Intel and AMD CPU and the consideration of its calorific value, aluminum extrusion manufacturers design the corresponding molds, heat the aluminum ingots to a certain temperature to extrude the desired shapes and specifications from the mold, then we can ge the finished heat sinks after cutting, cross-cutting, grinding, deburring, cleaning, and surface finish.
Aluminum extruded heat sinks are made of aluminum alloy sheets through extrusion process and surface finish, they come in a variety of shapes and sizes for different device installations and devices with different power consumption. The heat sink extrusion can be a standard part or ,customized, the extrusion profiles are extruded from the steel die, then it can be cut into a certain length by customer requirements. The surface treatment of the heatsink is electrophoretic paint or anodizing, the purpose of which is to improve the heat dissipation efficiency and insulation performance. It can be increased by 10%- 15% under natural cooling, 3% under ventilation cooling, and the electrophoretic paint can withstand voltage of 500v- 800V.
