Power Inverter Aluminum Extruded Heat Sink

  Inverter is a device which converts the DC current into AC power that can be used on home appliance, cellphone, and other devices. The electric current is converted from a DC power to AC power by the inverter which contains a transformer and switches.

  Usually a heat sink is used on the primary windings of the transformer directly, and the switches are mounted on the heat sink and the electrical connection between the transformer and switches is through the heat sink. To improve the heat dissipation performance, the connection point on the heat sink for the primary windings is spacially removed from the locations of the switches. The primary winding of a transformer is formed by a banded or banded conductor having a cross-sectional area of the primary conductor that allows the construction of a relatively compact transformer while also providing a relatively large cross section. The use of ribbon conductors in the primary winding significantly simplifies the interconnection of the primary winding ends with the bus and the heat sink. Because the ribbon-like conductor of the transformer can be directly bolted to the plane of the bus or heat sink without the use of intermediate terminals or lugs, and because a relatively large contact area is established, ohmic contact resistance can be minimized, thereby reducing heat generation. In one embodiment, a switch for the primary winding is mounted to the radiator using a wedge configuration. The mounting wedge includes two flexible plate-like sections that hold the switch pull piece and body on the adjacent side walls of the radiator.
