Thermal heatsink Welding process

    Welding heatsink is a heat dissipation product produced with welding process as the main process.After more than ten years of development, welding process has developed from brazing as the main process in the early stage to soldering as the main process of this kind of radiator. Soldering is also known as tin welding. In terms of  soldering technology, this kind of soldering heatsink  combines the base and fins of the radiator by welding.

      Copper and aluminum are the most commonly used materials for welding radiators. Considering the cost, structure, performance, heat transfer and cost, copper and aluminum are the most widely used.  From the base  and fin of the welding radiator, combined with the two most commonly used materials of copper and aluminum, according to the welding combination, it can be divided into the following four categories:

1 aluminum base+aluminum stamping fin design: this combination has high density fin and lighter weight with goog thermal performance.

2. copper base+ copper fin design: The thermal conductivity K value of copper is more than twice that of aluminum, so its heat transfer performance will be better. When it is difficult to solve the heat dissipation problem with aluminum, you can choose to use copper. However, pure copper radiator will have some disadvantages. For example, the weight of copper is relatively heavy, the density is more than twice that of aluminum, and the price is more than twice that of aluminum.

3. copper base+ aluminum fin combination design: this heatsink has both the good heat transfer and temperature equalization performance of copper and the advantages of relatively light weight, relatively low cost and good bonding strength of aluminum.

4. aluminum base+ copper fin design: has the best cost effective and higher thermal performance , widely used in many thermal design.

    Thermal design is very important in every electric device system, engineers have to balance the performance , weight and cost for the whole system. With the new technology and production process developed , we believe that there will be lighter ,smaller, and higher performance thermal product to meet the high performance requirement.
