What are the practical tips for maintaining PV inverters?

The photovoltaic inverter is a key part of the entire photovoltaic power generation system. When it is connected to the grid for power generation, it is directly connected to the power grid, and its importance is self-evident. Therefore, develop the habit of using and maintaining photovoltaic inverters correctly, and do the following 13 points carefully to ensure that the online rate of photovoltaic inverters is > 98%, and continue to ensure power generation income.

1. Before using the PV controller and inverter, you should read the instruction manual.

2. Pay attention to the warning signs on the machine.

3. Before starting up, check whether the input voltage is normal.

4. During operation, pay attention to whether the order of switching on and off is correct, and whether the indications of each meter head and indicator light are normal.

5. During operation, pay attention to the setting of overcharge voltage and overdischarge voltage of the controller, which should meet the design requirements.

6. In the event of open circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating and other faults, the photovoltaic controller and inverter will usually automatically shut down and enter the protection state. At this time, do not turn it on immediately! The cause should be identified and repaired before attempting to start.

7. There is high voltage in the inverter cabinet. On weekdays, please lock the cabinet door.

8. When the ambient temperature is more than 30°C, we need to do the thermal management well to prevent overheating of the equipment and prolong its service life.

9. Check whether the temperature, sound and smell inside the machine are abnormal.

10. Check whether the cooling fans of modules, reactors and transformers in the inverter can automatically start and stop according to the temperature. When the fan is running, whether there is a large vibration or abnormal noise, if it is abnormal, first power off, and then repair it.

11. Check the positive-to-ground, negative-to-ground, and insulation resistance between the positive and negative poles of the DC bus. The resistance value should be greater than 2MΩ.

12. Check the wiring and terminals of various parts for looseness and corrosion (such as fuses, fans, power modules, input and output terminals, grounding, etc.), and repair them immediately if any abnormality is found.

13. Periodically disconnect the circuit breaker on the output side (grid side) of the AC grid once, and check whether the inverter can immediately stop feeding power to the grid.
