Heatsink extrusions are manufactured by pushing the aluminum ingot through the steel tooling to make the custom shape, then cut off and machining for the specific dimensions; heatsink extrusions usually supplied with a surface finish such as black anodizing or clear anodizing to enhance its thermal performance.
