The heat pipe CPU cooler is usually soldered with fin, base, and heat pipes, then we will do the thermal test internally to check if it’s a good thermal heatsink by the thermal resistance and delta T data, finally we install the hardware such as screws and springs and pack to ship out.

The fin is commonly manufactured by stamping, and the material is aluminum or copper, for aluminum fin, the surface finish is nickel plating, and for copper fin, the surface finish is usually passivation. The base is a thermal pedestal, and is finished by passivation. Heat pipe is the core component for this kind of cooler, it can conduct the heat from the pedestal to fins and dissipate it.

  

The working principle of heat pipe:

  When the evaporating end of a heat pipe is heated, the liquid inside the pipe would evaporated into gas which generates a instantaneously high local pressure in the cavity, also in the evaporating process, the gas would absorb the heat, the local high pressure would drive the gas flow to the condensation side at high speed, when the gas arrive at the condensation side, it would condense to be fluid, and release the heat which would be dissipated by the fins.
