Skiving fin heatsinks can be an alternative to extruded heatsinks when looking for a high fin density,high aspect ratio and thinner fin that can’t be achieved by extrusion technology. Skived heatsinks can be manufactured from either copper or aluminum, this fins are sliced from a metal bar by a sharp and accurate blade, then lift them up and bend them vertically.Skived fin heat sink offers excellent thermal performance as it provides more heat dissipation area than other process heatsink in a given volume, also the fins are peeled from base, so there is no interface joint(thermal resistance)between fins and base,the skived fin heat sink has great thermal conductivity.
