Cold Plate Heat Sink

When the air cooled heat sinks could not deal with the high thermal density devices such as IGBT, and high power semiconductors, which could not dissipate the heat enough to keep the electronic devices under their safe maximum running temperature, liquid cooling is the best choice of high power thermal management. Cold plate heat sink is consist of pump, heat exchanger, liquid pipes and coolant. Commonly the cold plate absorb the heat from heat source and transfer the heat to the liquid coolant, then the pump will circulate the coolant through the internal channels and flow to the heat exchanger to dissipate the heat, the cooled down liquid coolant will flow back to the cold plate and repeat the process.
